Jeffles...I believe the Yob was/is a Norwood supporter - which explains all his negativity about football, AFL, Port Power, social justice, et al!

What do South Australian's think of this idea of merging grounds?

I don't think its that unsustainable, especially if you put apartments surrounding the ground ala what Claremont is doing.

A small step has already been taken in that direction, with Norwood FC granting the Double Blues permission to use Coopers Stadium on a Friday night in Round 2 when they play the Magpies. A compromise agreement between Coopers and West End was hammered out for it as well, with 50/50 pouring rights for the match.

Forcing 2,000 cars to drive across the city to another ground is unsustainable... might have to catch the bus

With any luck I'll be over for the Friday night game at Norwood. Just need the boys in purple to do their job...

^^ The top SANFL teams don't compete in the Foxtel cup.

There are areas where the SANFL leads, and areas where it doesn't. It ticks more boxes than any other feeder league in the sport. But it has declined to the point that it has no more drawing power for playing talent than any decent country league with pokies. Often far more money in the country leagues as well.

The SANFL, VFL, WAFL and AFLQ are equal as a shop front for recruiting talent. But the country leagues absolutely smash them on ability to lure an AFL drop out and offer a professional salary. Players like Mark McGough copped a pay rise from leaving Collingwood for the country.

Fevola is getting paid $20,000 per game in Western Australian country towns, which don't have pokies

^ Nope Harvey Brunswick (Farming community) and probably the same at Rockingham Rams (play in a country league, northern part of the Peel district - even though its part of the Perth Metropolitan area as well)
