Article in The Australian today releases TV viewing for all football codes. With all games on Foxtel this year, AFL increased its pay TV by 30 mill. Total figure for 2012 = 123 mill. If you add up global TV audiences for each of the competitions (AFL, NRL, SR and A-League), then I suspect SR wins that easily. And before anyone tries to argue that's irrelevant, it's not if you're an advertiser.

Nonetheless, the ARU would be concerned and the FFA would be delighted.

I was looking through the AFL Annual Report 2011 earlier and saw a special allocation to GCS of $16.8m. Will be interesting to see where they stand in 2012 and how GWS fared. Starting up a club is not cheap.

they did. if you take away one off expenses, player salaries, venue hire, free tickets, and basically every other expense.

Just like the other football clubs who make profits after stripping "one off" expenses that occur on an annual basis, such as sacking a member of the football department. But this year it's different I swear.
