AFL 2010
And another thing that's retarded about this game.
The rules.
1) The rules are subjective, and therefore impossible to officiate consistently. And it's impossible to impress the need to change this on the fans because they are retarded.
For example: out of bounds. The only rule that could be applied consistently would be whoever touches the ball last gives a way a free kick. One yes/no decision, one possible outcome. Instead, we have:
Who touched it last.
What part of his body did it come off.
Was it 'deliberate' - .
Even if it was deliberate, did he 'hide it well enough' .
Was it open play or a throw in.
News flash rednecks. You'll never get consistent decisions with rules like that.
2) Rule change quota.
Every year the rules have to change. That's the only rule that hasn't ever changed. When the rule change is utterly stupid you 'trial' it in the preseason cup. When people ask you why you'd trial a stupid rule if you never intended to use it, just play dead.
3) The rules change during the season, depending on which players the AFL wants kids in western sydney and brisbane to idolise. But you see, the rule isn't changed itself, because let's face it... how do you change a rule that means whatever the f**k you want anyway (ie deliberate!). No, what you do is you call the umpires in to the office on Mondays and reeducate them on what the same rules mean.
So for instance: New rule! Can only take x seconds from the mark to take your set shot for goal. The kids in sydney want that. Except for Lloydy. He can take all the time he wants. Yeah, everybody loves Lloydy. Then round 7 comes. Call the umps in to the office. Look guys we have a problem. Lloydy is leading Barry Hall in the goal kicking. For the next 3 rounds can you even things up, maybe blow the whistle at Lloydy for no reason and get rid of the 'chop the arms' rule to help Barry out? Thanks guys.
Now, this sounds stupid. So how do you sell it? Easy. Make it sound smart. Round up the commentators and tell them to refer to the 'interpretation.' People like Tony Shaw lap up the opportunity to sound smart. Interpretation has 5 syllables - a whole 4 more than he could manage in his playing days. And more importantly, the fans lap it up too. Why, of course! It's not the rule! It's the in-ter-pre-ta-tion! Retards.
Communist wank sport.

Yes the NBA and NBL have a lot ot trouble with there subjective rules .yob wrote: 1) The rules are subjective, and therefore impossible to officiate consistently.
Luckily soccer only has to interpret diving .
Rugby at least has striaght forward rules - 5000 of them .
The out-of-bounds law was changed to the out-on-the full law and now we have deliberate taking the ball out-of-play.yob wrote: For example: out of bounds. ..........
That's the only rule that hasn't ever changed.
So the law HAS been modified .
A who-touched-it-last law might come in eventually .
doesn't mean you'll always know who touched it last .

The unchanged rule I was talking about was the 'change the rules' rule.IQ wrote:Yes the NBA and NBL have a lot ot trouble with there subjective rules .yob wrote: 1) The rules are subjective, and therefore impossible to officiate consistently.
