Huge crowds for the first Aussie Rules event in Scotland for 2013....oh hang on, there wasn't as it was cancelled due to the snow.

Nines, can you get over to Scotland and bash some sense into the bloke (an Aussie. Very short, very angry, but I don't go in for stereotypes  ) who seems to want to destroy the sport in Scotland? We play 9 a side due to low numbers, and this fool wants to reduce the number of matches, and bring in rules mandating the use of "Scottish" players. His definition of Scottish would actually rule out members of the Scottish team under the current rules for international eligibility from qualifying as "Scottish" players in the league, and thus basically kill off 2 of the 3 teams.

Absolutely massive strides for aussie rules in New Zealand, with St Kilda signing a NZ player under a scholarship programme. Amazingly, this one has played the game before. For a month.

I think the 20,000 number playing AFL would be plausible if you put sporting participation to a ballot.

As long as it's in alphabetical order.

Unconfirmed reports that on receiving his guernsey and shorts from an AFL media manager pre-photo shoot the young man was heard to say:

"Do I have to wear this bro?"

If the game is growing overseas... why aren't we hearing about it from them? Because it doesn't exist. All they're doing is promoting this idea of foreign conquest to garner support for the game's administration at home.

Governments do it all the time, it's called propaganda. And all you're doing is reinforcing the game's image as the bogan game.

Hey, I mean knock yourself out buddy. I've got plenty more oxygen here to laugh with.
