The Australian Baseball League gets underway this weekend with Sydney v Canberra at Blacktown Olympic Park. The match is a sell-out. I think that's around 3,000 - the 1,200 seats had previously sold-out and now all standing room tickets are gone.

New Baseball and ABL sections now on Austadiums:

The full schedule will be added in shortly.

Brisbane are streaming their home games online. Pretty amateur stuff, but for those keen enough, it gets the job done. Field is rather patchy as it hosted stereosonic on the weekend.

ABL Final.

Note the new dugouts etc. If every city in the country built a ground with the same specifications as this, the league would have a great product.

Really enjoyed game 3. Will try and get to more games next season.

At least Perth has a proper baseball stadium. Unlike Adelaide.....

Nice pic Mr E.

The last time I went there, there was no dug outs and there was half the seats that are there now. The recent redevelopment makes the venue perfect for the present crowds that go to the league and the ability to expand if the league has increasing crowds.

$5 cups of Hahn's Super Dry Full Strength was another uniqueness, very few grounds in Perth are allowed to sell full strength alcohol at sporting events.

Well Done to Adelaide for having the highest attendances and the highest attendance of the league for its final against Melbourne.

The Great Britian Rugby League team in 2003 were sponsored by Think! a government road safety campaign in the UK. Press releases used to refer to them as the Think! Great Britian Lions.

Ha, I found it ironic because the beer was so cheap and they sold full strength, unlike other venues.

Apparently the Heat could be part of a Champions League tournament with Asian teams from November.

Probably heavily campaigned by the league.

Yeah, was quite puzzled by it to be honest...

Was run exceptionally well by the ABL though.
