Haven't there been long-running plans to redevelop LA Memorial Collesiem (i know spelling, whatever) for a possible NFL team?

Due to a ground sharing dispute with the UCLA, unfortunately those plans have been shelved...

What they will get is a new 75k venue in the City of Industry (LA suburb) built into a hill...

Coliseum proposal is way cooler but I think they are both impressive.

(USC is at the Colliseum).

I can't see this getting up anytime soon. The LA bid is based on the taxpayer funding the stadium and California's finances aren't brilliant right now.

USC it is...

Apparently, the governator signed a bill late last year paving the way for this stadium to be built.

Also, the company behind the plan to lure the NFL back to Los Angeles have stated that the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills are their main targets for relocation. The San Francisco 49ers, San Diego Chargers, Minnesota Vikings, St. Louis Rams and Oakland Raiders are all being looked at as well.

It would be quite back to the future if St Louis or Oakland go to LA.

Shwarzenegger’s involvement has been to streamline the planning regulations but it doesn’t appear there’ll be any state funding allocated for the project.

Of the clubs likely to relocate I’d nominate the Jags as the most likely. Unlike the Bills who are very popular in upstate New York, the Jags can’t fill their stadium. For the last few years the club has been covering large sections of the stadium with tarps to lower the capacity in order to avoid the TV black-out. Not a good sign. Anecdotally, bloggers have complained that college football, especially the Gators, seem to take away a lot of the focus from the younger NFL club.

That said, the Bills owners are more openly flirting with relocation, but they have their eyes on Toronto.

I think it'll be Jacksonville just quietly.

That City of Industry stadium is so effing boring.

Only someone truly ignorant could believe that.
