the design was only released this week, despite the fact that they started construction a while back.

many thoughts:
- it looks really expensive. $1bn+ from what I've read previously.
- it's a very impressive structure but judging by the enormous number of suites and the 15,000 club seats, the Cowboys are really aiming their matches at the white collar set. Apparently the average ticket price will be about $100. No real surprise for an NFL club.
- I'm not a fan of small tiers, they're not so good for atmosphere, compared to large decks. Just my personal preference.

and I'm not particularly impressed by all the bells and whistles like the retractable roof and the giant glass retractable doors at each end zone. I don't think they add anything to the utility of the stadium. A matter of taste I suppose.

But it does look like an evolved version of their current Texas Stadium.

This stadium will have a capacity of 80,000 and can be increased to 100,000 for big events like the Superbowl. This picture clearly demonstrates how temporary stands can be added to fill up the endzones.

you may get a good breeze through it if they open the ends up...they might break some records for distance there with the wind behind you

Are you kidding?! For "America's team", this doesn't even come close to being over the top.

The .... indicated my sarcasm.

I image a retractable exploding rotating something would certainly put it over the top.

I dont like small tiers and small bays. By the looks of it those small lighter coloured bays on what you'd call the 2nd and 3rd tiers are adjoining boxes so they're obviously accommodating the corporates as best they can.

I've noticed with a number of NFL grounds there's little or no seating at the ends. I could be wrong but I always imagined the end of the ground would be a pretty good place to view play in a Gridiron match. Bit like being behind the bowlers arm in Cricket or behind the home plate in Baseball.

You're kidding, right? The only NFL stadium that doesn't have enclosed seating is in Arizona, the new stadium of the Arizona Cardinals. There are many US soccer stadiums that don't have seating at the ends, but not American football stadiums.

I like how they've kept the idea of a 'dome' but with an hole in the middle - liek Texas Stadium..

The idea is -

so that God can keep an eye on his team!
