Not being a Union fan, I'm in this for the stadiums. I saw Concord Oval and Eden Park circa 1987 on Foxtel last night down at the pub. A good start.

i will give the world cup this much - there is now a lot of grassroots hype which i'm actually really enjoying. the sport may be utter rubbish, but it's a bit hard not to be happy at the moment.

Hey adelaide, got a question for ya. In your info for FMG Stadium in Palmerston North you list it as being from 2005. Where did you get your info from? Just asking because the place has actually been around (as far as I know) for over 60 years as both a speedway and rugby playing field. IIRC the Poms played NZ in a rugby league test there on the 1992 Great Britain Lions Tour and the Aussies played the Kiwi's there in '93 on a night where the ground was wetter than my swimming pool and balls kicked into touch and into the crowd weren't thrown back to the point where replacements had to be found holding the game up.

SOme good early performances by a couple of teams, although perhaps it says more about the teams they were playing.
So the argies went well against the Pomes.

And the welsh nearly performed the upset of the tournament if they had knocked off the Saffers.

So some impressive form from those two.

*BTW this is still how we are meant to talk about rugby right??
