The stadium will offer an air-conditioned space for 63,000 permanent seats, expandable to 73,000 for mega events like the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl and NFL Super Bowls.

i don't like that open end!

i know of atleast 3 stadia where the pitch slides out under a section of stand, seems odd for it not to be the case with this stadium..

I like it.

It certainly piddles all over Sun Devil Stadium.

I also thought it was the certain Superbowl host for 2007 (2006 season). Am i wrong?

Wow, it's actually a decent stadium from the USA. Not another one of the wide bowls they seem to love so much.

I have to wonder why behind the goal is empty.

Atmosphere?

Echo sound of a vacant end rather then having seats...much like a cave.

I just think those empty spaces are a waste. Bring fans closer to the action!

I saw some shots of the construction of the stadium during the Fiesta Bowl.

It looks very, very sexy.

With so many NFL grounds going to synthetic turf its a wonder why they bothered with the cost and inconvenience of having a moving pitch.

Though by the looks of the pictures, if they did use real grass then they would get plenty sunlight on it through the roof each day to not even need the moving pitch. I mean how often is it cloudy in arizona.

Judging from what i've read about the stadium they have the rectractable field so the stadium can host things like trade shows and other events on the concerete floor rather than on the grass.

Bump

I saw a doco on Foxtel about this. My fiance recorded it for me. God love her!

Looks quite sophisticated for $US495m.
