Challenge Stadium Evacuated as fire approaches

On the 27th of Jan 400 patrons enjoying the australia day long weekend at Challenge Stadium were forced to evacuate as a bushfire approached the complex. About 20 ha were burnt out close to schools, shops and of course the stadium. Just like a few weeks ago in Canberra, when the Capitals were forced to change venue because of the approaching bush fires. No houses were damaged but it certainly worried the upper-class residents of Mt Claremont.
