The extra 4.8k seats would make the ground perfect for Wanderers. Tell them to stop after stage 2 fukn.

Lucky they completed those renovations under the grandstand recently! Right decision though.

Were any design plans unveiled on Wednesday? I've been out of the country but I can't find anything on the net..

There were no plans. They intend to go through an expression of interest process to shortlist tenderers. Some concept plans might come out then but I expect that we won't see any plans until the successful design and construct tenderer is announced. Seeing they want to start demolition/construction in September this year we don't have long to wait.

Mr Baird also finally fixed a time for the $300 million rebuild of Parramatta Stadium — with a January 2017 start date for construction and the stadium ready in early 2019.

What I find weird about this is the fact that despite a planned start date of Jan 2017, there are still no designs. At least out in the public domain.

It is expected that there will be a press release Wednesday advising the three shortlisted consortiums. One of the Wanderers' members was in one of the unsuccessful consortiums and is gutted.

The DA for the demolition of the existing stadium and the pool went on public display yesterday for a month. There is quite a lot of interesting information in the EIS.

This sketch shows the potential building envelope of the structure when viewed from the south on O'Connell St. If they get that through planning then there will be up to about twice the height of the existing stadium to fit the new one in.
