Parra Stadium Porn (Now Parramatta Upgrade Thread)

Post by Spirit of Santos »

Looked for but couldn't find a dedicated Parramatta Stadium thread to put this in. A WSW fan did a basic mock up of an upgraded Parra by replicating the current stands at the end. Just a bit of fapping material for my fellow stadium lovers.

They need to make the stands retractable and locked in the oval position so GWS can hold a press conference there.

I've had this discussion with many of my Eels comrades.
The light towers need re-jigging.
Maybe Crow can fill us in but the extension of the current stands to fold around the corners cannot happen until the towers are removed and replaced either further behind the stadium with a bigger cantilever or are readjusted and placed upon the side extended roofing.
Parra stadium has the potential to become a GREAT 30-35000 seater. I just don't know whether the "experts" in this country have the knowledge to create it. Nor do I know whether the politicians have the gumption.

The roof wouldn't be high enough for sports lighting, so light towers would need moving and be made higher....the real issue with parramatta stadium is the lack of facilities to cater for 2 home teams.

A $30 million refurbishment of Parramatta Stadium will be announced by the Federal Government this week. The funding will increase the ground capacity by at least 5000 and improve corporate facilities for the Eels and the Western Sydney.

Is this the same federal government that polled a record low 29% in the just released Nespoll and would require a miracle to get re-elected in September?

Mind you considering that it seems only Western Sydney is having this election (if you watch the News) the LNP might 'match' the commitent, but given the conservative thought process that both Mr. Rudd and Ms. Gillard have over-spent in thier terms I cant imagine Abbott just blindly signing up to match the spend.

Also the same government that promised to complete the Epping to Parramatta train line. And budget surpluses every year. Etc, etc, etc. I can't believe there's anyone dumb enough to believe a word this government says. In fact it's quite remarkable that even 29% of voters are putting their hand up for Labor.

Scarier than that is the 9% who think the Watermelons are worth voting for.
Yes a Watermelon is Green on the outside, but you'll notice how Red they are under the surface. Being a minor party they often escape proper media scrutiny of their policies, but to me some of their policies are bat-sh*t scary. Things like disbanding the defence force and allocating that money to foreign aid...could only have been dreamed up in the fantasy happy/hippy world of those who have ‘lived life’ solely in the tute room of a liberal arts degree. The last thing this country needs as we navigate the final tricky part of theglobal downturn is a party that is ideolohgically opposed to business. The strength of the Hawke Keating era was their ability to balance union demands while still engaging with businesses to promote investment in our economy. I'm usually a Lib voter, but I'd love(or wouldn't mind) having PK back in charge of the Treasury. Especially when the alternative is Swan:(

The Greens' policy on airports is hilarious. They don't want Wilton, they don't want Badgery's Creek, they want to close Kingsford Smith. So a city of 4 million+ people should have no airport. :wank:

But they're quite happy to spend $100bn on a high speed rail system.
