The blurb about the project talks of filling between the stands in the south east corner in the stage that takes capacity to 25k. This requires the upper tier of the two stands to start at the same level and have the same rake.yob wrote:I don't get the need for an additional tier of seating at the end. Looking at the Master Plan and drawings in the DA submitted to the Town (City) of Vincent in Nov 2011 it doesn't look as if there is room to do it. The boundary of the site is close and there are some trees and existing buildings in the way.yob wrote:Okay, cool.gyfox wrote:The blurb about the project talks of filling between the stands in the south east corner in the stage that takes capacity to 25k. Do they also link up with the corporate level of the old grandstand?
Rumours were that there was some intervention at DSR to stop the Fred D Book Stand being demolished and to put the Eastern Grandstand on the Western side. The Fred D Book Stand doesn't survive in future stages.Looking at the Master Plan and drawings in the DA submitted to the Town (City) of Vincent in Nov 2011 it doesn't look as if there is room to do it. That would be the retractable stadium that exists only on paper and in the promises of politicians in the run-up to an election, yes?Egan wrote:Rumours were that there was some intervention at DSR to stop the Fred D Book Stand being demolished and to put the Eastern Grandstand on the Western side. Knowing WA and stadium funding, don't expect another stage for a long time. Big matches will be played at the retractable stadium that will hold 65,000 (5000 more than in AFL/Cricket mode). There is also potential according to Barnett to make it 80,000 capacity into the future.
And dosnt actualy work in rectangular mode on paper, in reality or in a magical lollypop universe.Boba Fett wrote:That would be the retractable stadium that exists only on paper and in the promises of politicians in the run-up to an election, yes?Egan wrote:Rumours were that there was some intervention at DSR to stop the Fred D Book Stand being demolished and to put the Eastern Grandstand on the Western side.
