It might be Australia's worst regularly used stadium! I haven't been there with lights - it's only had lights for a year I think. Which means every time I've been there, sitting in the best vantage points of the southern stand or the hill, I've been looking at the sun. A good stadium has over 90% of seats in great vantage points. Bellerive is nothing like this - over 50% of the crowd spend the afternoon looking into the sun. Facilities are old (has the worst replay screen i've seen), accessibility to Hobart's eastern shore is awful, and there's no parking! I want to love this ground, because it's hill is one of the great, great places to watch the cricket. But everything about it seems poorly designed.

Just a quick review. Nice oval the times I've been there, good surface and nice stands (however sun can be a problem). You can usually see the ground pretty well no matter where you sit, however getting to the ground is the major issue. As the oval is smack bang in the middle of suburbia, it is impossible to find a park close to the ground on a popular day (bad if your kids hate walking).

OK, being close to the ocean, but access in Bellerive is kind of a pain (even though the ferry service is handy). The ground looks like training ground. Only one small grandstand and perhaps 1 enclosed stand. Sitting on the grass bank is a real pain in the ar$e! I dunno why they keep playing ODI's there?

Bellerive Oval is wicked as. The devils have made the move there and i think the hawks should too. you are always expecting a good crowd at this venue
