Maitland Sportsground

The Maitland No.1 Sportsground is a multi-sport venue located in the regional NSW city of Maitland, just outside of Newcastle. Maitland Sportsground is an icon for the city and it has a rich history in the community spanning over 80 years. It has been home to many memorable sporting achievements and community milestones throughout the years. The venue was given a $8.6m upgrade in 2017 with the construction of a new 1,100-seat grandstand. The playing arena is shaped as an oval, however the grandstand boundary is straight, meaning rectangular sports can be played in front of the grandstand, but oval sports can still be played at the venue.

Located adjacent to the No. 1 Sportsground at the Maitland Regional Sports Complex is the new Athletics Centre that opened in October 2020. The track features a main grandstand with seating for 560 spectators and lighting for night events.
