ICC Sydney

The International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) is Sydney's world-class convention and exhibition centre that opened in 2016 at Darling Harbour. The main 9,000-seat theatre is officially known as the Aware Super Theatre due to a commercial naming-rights deal.

Featuring a striking contemporary design, leading technology and multipurpose spaces, the International Convention Centre Sydney is a beacon of innovation, learning and entertainment, connecting and celebrating leaders of invention, business, governance and the arts.

In the heart of Sydney, ICC Sydney is located in the active precinct of Darling Harbour on Cockle Bay and replaces the old Sydney Entertainment Centre. While not specifically designed to host sport, the main theatre with its 9,000-seating capacity has hosted one exhibition tennis match and a couple of netball matches since it opened in December 2016. There are plans to build a new inner-CBD indoor sports arena at some stage in the future however nothing has been confirmed as yet.

The adjoining Exhibition Centre features 35,000 sqm of open space and can host sports events, as it did in June 2019 when it was configured with temporary grandstands to seat 6,000 spectators for an Ice Hockey game.
