Before the Sydney Olympic Park precinct was built, ES Marks Field was the premier track and field venue in New South Wales. It was also the home to Sydney City Hakoah, NSL champions in 1977, 1980, 1981 and 1982. Today the ground is a relic of the past with its glory days behind it.

The only viewing area for spectators is a large concrete stand running along the western wing and around the southern end. The majority of this stand is terraced but there are some moulded plastic benches on the south-western side. Today the ground is used for athletics carnivals, some inter-club athletics and as a training base for the Sydney Roosters NRL team.
