Known to locals as Rat Park, Pittwater Park is the home of the Warringah Rats, who play in the NSW Rugby Union Grade Competition. Northern Spirit FC also played their last season in the old National Soccer League at the ground, after moving from North Sydney Oval.

The ground was established in 1971, when the fledgling Warringah Rugby Club were admitted into the Sydney Grade Competition. Over the years, basic facilities have been added, such as the 1,500-seat grandstand, clubhouse, and training field. Lights have also been installed on the main field.

Located just 500 metres from North Narrabeen beach, the ground is often subject to ferocious easterly winds, making play difficult, and as a result other teams in the competition fear a journey to the Northern Beaches venue.

Local sports fans hoped that the move by Northern Spirit would result in improvements to the ground, but their swift exit saw very little results. However some minor improvements did eventuate such as new bucket seats in the main stand.
