One of the smallest grounds in Tasmania, but also one of the most picturesque. Located in Ulverstone, about halfway between Devonport and Burnie, the ground has a capacity of around 9,000. On the outer wing is a grass hill and on the main wing is three main stands joined together. It is tiered between the front of the stands and the boundary fence and has an old tree in the wet area. The Tasmanian Devils who play in the Victorian Football League play a few matches at the ground each season.
On January 12th 2005 vandals struck at Ulverstone Recreation Ground when the middle grandstand (built in 1955) was destroyed by a $500,000 fire.
The blaze came within a whisker of destroying both stands surrounding it and the UFC Clubrooms. It is expected that the local Council will be building a new stand in its place, but this could take more than a year to replace.
