Etihad Stadium is a 55,000-seat multi-purpose venue located in the heart of Melbourne, playing host to Australian Football, Rugby League/Union, Football, Cricket as well as concerts, conferences and more.

An array of innovations places Etihad Stadium among the most technologically advanced sports and entertainment venues in the world. The show will always go on at Etihad Stadium, with its retractable roof that opens and closes in less than 20 minutes. Even with the roof open, 98 percent of patrons are sitting behind the drip line of the roof. When the roof is closed, the ceiling height to the underside of the support structure is 24 metres (78 feet) and to underside of the fixed structure is 35 metres.
Etihad Stadium can be re-configured to suit many sports and entertainment events. Moveable lower tiers can be configured into a rectangle or oval to suit a variety of field sports and stage events. This seating can move up to 18 metres forward.
The Docklands venue has now had three naming rights sponsors since it opened in 2000. It was initially called Colonial Stadium before changing to Telstra Dome in October 2002. As of March 2009, it became Etihad Stadium following a naming rights deal with the national airline of the UAE.
