Skilled Stadium, formally Kardinia Park, is the heart of football in Geelong. With a strong 27,000 capacity, it is the main home ground of the Geelong Football Club who also play some home games at Melbourne's Telstra Dome. These days, the stadium is mostly an all-seater venue with the only standing room situated behind the Northern goals.

The newest completed grandstand at Skilled Stadium, the Reg Hickey Stand, is located on the Eastern side of the ground and was completed in May 2005. The 3-tiered grandstand provides first class facilities for spectators, corporates and the players. There are a total of six main stands at the ground, including the Doug Wade Stand behind the Southern goals, the Brownlow stand on the Western wing and the Ford Stand in the North-West pocket, which is the second newest stand and features indoor seating.

Next on the list at Skilled Stadium is the replacement of seats in the Doug Wade Stand. The old wooden benches will be replaced by bucket seats after the 2005 AFL season. Skilled Stadium has had a number of name changes due to sponsorship agreements. Besides from the current Skilled Stadium name, the ground has also been known as Baytec Stadium and Shell Stadium. The ground is traditionally known as Kardinia Park.
