| The Sydney Showground was situated
right next to the Sydney Cricket Ground and Sydney Football Stadium. It
played host to many sporting events and cultural events such as the Royal
Easter Show. Many Soccer internationals were played at the ground as was
the World Series Cricket in the mid 1970's.

Motor Racing was a big part of the Sydney Showground with many events
held at the venue over the years. The record crowd at the venue is
believed to be around 50,000. In the late 90's, the Sydney Showground was
no longer needed, it was an old, tired venue, and due to all the
new facilities out at Homebush Bay, the venue was bulldozed. It now forms
part of the Sydney Fox Studios, with the main members stand kept and
converted into offices.
