Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club was established in 1892 and has a long, outstanding history as one of the world’s most prestigious tennis clubs. Once known as the home of Australian tennis, Kooyong’s centre court has hosted both the Davis Cup and the Australian Open.

The centre court was constructed in 1927, and the centre hosted the Australian Open between that year and 1986 before it moved to Melbourne Park. The centre now hosts the Commonwealth Bank International, formally known as the Colonial Classic, which is a major lead-up tournament to the Australian Open.

Kooyong boasts twenty-six beautifully manicured grass courts which are available for play between the months of November and May. The remaining twenty-four courts are artificial grass surfaces and are lit by low profile lighting enabling them to be open all year round.
