MES should not hold 25,000 - WARL

Chris Egan • Sunday 12th February 2006

WARL Chairman Geoff Baldwin does not support the Western Force's bid for Members Equity Stadium to have a capacity of 25,000. Baldwin believes demand is not sufficient in Perth for the facility to have a capacity of 25,000.

Speaking to Austadiums.com Baldwin stated that the Force could not expect to fill a 25,000 seat stadium every year after the first year hype.

"Western Force are in the first year honeymoon as were the Western Reds...the commercial reality is that they will not win more then one or two games...after the first year I would think they would only get 15,000 a game...they don't need a 25,000 seat stadium".
