When Norwood plays Adelaide will the supporters' heads spin round and round until they explode?

Former Paaa/Cow Brad Symes getting decked while playing for Central:

Bit of a cold chill watching this about a day after I watched the PBS Frontline doco on the NFL concussion scandal.

A calculated act. Seven week suspension for the culprit just announced.

It's the same penalty you get in the NRL for breaking a guy's neck rendering him a quadriplegic, and pleading not guilty.

I'm sure they'll go up a little now that they've won a game.

It's pretty cool when you have a round where all the games get a decent crowd.

Having a look at how the league is structured now. Season still 90 games, with all clubs playing each other home and away twice, except for the bumble bees who play all games away. Looks pretty good. Hopefully the bees can get 3-4k each week and give the whole league average a boost.

What on earth happened to Port? They've been sh*t for years, and now they're kicking arse.

The missus' dad will be well chuffed.

Related: would quite like to catch a game at Alberton one day.

What happened? The Power happened. The Magpies and the Power are practically one, last weekend they had 16 Power listed players playing against W-WT. And of course, the Alberton crowd are loving the newfound might the Magpies have so it's like the old saying goes... the ends justify the means.

Although it must be said that the long standing Magpies supporter group have left the club in the belief that their team is indeed gone, totally taken over by "big brother" in the Power.

Previous years the AFL listed players were spread over all sanfl clubs via a mini draft. Now it's just Paa players to the magpies and Cows players to the new Cows reserve team. To even things up a bit the clubs can only top up with under 23s.

Well that's just silly. Why would they bugger up the local comp like that?

There was a perceived disadvantage compared to other AFL clubs that they could keep all their magoos together in the one team, and had control over what positions they were played in. That said it was nowhere near as bad as in the early 90s when SANFL coaches like Neil Craig hated the Cows so much that he used to drop the Cows players to the North Adelaide magoos.

There is some upside to the situation, notably with the inclusion of the fruit tingles there's no more bye, and all clubs play each other twice.

To even things up the remaining non listed players are mostly under 23s. Also they're donated from the other clubs, on an opt in basis before the season is run. There is potential for it to be like Gladiators where all the contestants were failed gladiator try outs so had a point to prove, and therefore added incentive to grab Vulcan by his girly hair and make him their bitch.
