For many the value of a membership is you don't have to worry, or line up, for tickets to the 3 good games.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for LARGE HAILSTONES, HEAVY RAINFALL and DAMAGING WIND

Issued at 12:16 pm Sunday, 23 March 2014.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce large hailstones, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and damaging winds in the warning area over the next
several hours. Locations which may be affected include Penrith, Parramatta, Wollongong, Nowra, Bowral, Campbelltown, Orange, Bathurst and Katoomba.
"Perfect weather last weekend for WSW". Yeah, right.

"Biggest home crowd in four matches of 12,124, or 59% of capacity." Not surprising given the weather forecasts all weekend.

2 March v Newcastle - 15mm of rain fell on the day of the game.

16 March v Adelaide - 17.2mm of rain fell immediately before kick off causing the game to be delayed.

You do realise that 65% of seats are not under cover at Pirtek and that in February and March in Sydney when they forecast storms they are talking about rainfall events that often deliver 25mm+ an hour.

Oh, and the 4th "low crowd"? The midweek ACL game. Come on now. 9.3k midweek is well above par.

The last non midweek, non rain affected game at Pirtek was a sell out with 16,401 in attendance.

Simple thing for WSW is to raise membership prices and ask people to make a bigger commitment. If it's cheap enough that people brush games off, the they aren't paying enough.

The Eels have now won 2 home games - so someone will need them

Sell out at Parra Stadium today.
Crowd - 18631.
No way was there 2000 empty seats.

There is a post on WestSydneyFootball site where the Eels are saying they sold 20,207 tickets.

Yeh, saw that. Quoted from a newspaper article in one of the Sunday rags. It was a quote from "an official".
Still, my query (claim) still stands. No chance of 2000 empty seats yesterday. Despite its claimed capacity, I'd be surprised if we see another over 20000 attendance again at Parra before any upgrade.

The Eels are to develop training grounds and facilities in North Parramatta. That should clear the way for the upgrade of Pirtek to start and allow the dollars to stretch a bit further.

The stadium upgrade is on again. Seems it will start mid October and be finished by September next season with the stadium remaining operational throughout.

Brilliant design...

I'm yet to be convinced that the capacity needs to be much more than 25k anyway.
