I don't think I've ever seen them in Supermarkets.

I'll use them, no sweat, at Big W or Kmart and the like. Don't think I could be bothered at the supermarket.

What would be good for the supermarket is a tutorial on how to avoid the slowest line. No matter what happens I ALWAYS manage to pick it.

In Northcote they have two Coles joints in the same (small) plaza...there's never much of a line in either.

I refuse to pass my stats through their self-checkouts. Gimme a discount and I might, but until then I'll continue to use the checkout chicks and leave the store scratching my head wondering why I always seem to have just gone the checkout with the most attractive chick on it...

i've used them in the us. they're f***ing inefficient, they take longer to scan everything and you have to cock around with packing stuff longer. maybe if you just needed to scan it like they do at the actual counter instead of slooooooowly having to pass it through this delicate, annoying scanner.
