Have you started working on the Adelaide WC Venue yet? It's in the park just south of the Clipsal pits and includes a straight on each side of the football pitch and a loop at the southern end. I can just imagine Webber storming through the tunnel into the stadium rounding a 180 degree bend and punching it out through the other tunnel all in front of 40,000 screaming Aussies . Gotta get the GP back to its rightful track somehow.

Well gyfox, I would have thought that one who has prided themselves on the history of sport and regional entitlement to them, would have realised that Albert Park is far more 'rightful' to host a Grand Prix than the streets of backwater Adelaide...
The first Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix was held on the Adelaide street circuit and stayed there until Melbourne bought it. If you mean previous incarnations of the Australian Grand Prix then Bathurst, Warwick Farm, Philip Island all have more claim on the event than Albert Park.

Wouldn't they have equal standing as they all hosted it in the past?
First ever AGP at Philip Island 1928, Mt Panorama built for its resurrection in 1938, Warwick Farm built for its resurrection in 1963, Adelaide built for it resurrection in 1985. Albert Park rebuilt for its theft from Adelaide in 1996. Plus Adelaide is still considered to be the best road circuit ever to have hosted a Formula 1 race.

Oh I dislike Albert Park too, I just thought that gyfox's comment was a bit offiside and was worth having a go at.
I'd actually love to maybe see them at Phillip Island someday. It would be a tremendous sight seeing F1 cars zooming down the straight at 330km/h and then upon hitting that crest only seeing Bass Strait.

Anyway, check out the qualifying results for Spa...

P1: Fisichella Force India

Great win by Webber last night in the F1's.

Also great win by Stoner at Phillip Island yesterday. Over 50,000 there on Sunday. Total crowd for the 3 days almost 106,000 which is the second-highest figure since the race returned to its home in 1997.

And looking forward to the "SuperGP" this weekend on the Gold Coast. Should be huge. So huge that the A1GP has pulled out. haha. Flop!

Thanks for voting!

Is our GP worth the money it costs taxpayers?
Yes, it's a great sporting event Victoria can be proud of 41.98% (411 votes)
No, it's a waste of money, get rid of it 58.02% (568 votes)
Total votes: 979

Of course, this is just a Herald Sun poll which is not legally binding, unless proposition 304 passes. And we all pray it will.

Yes, but Yobbo, if it was still in Adelaide, it'd be losing $80 mil per year easily. It's still worth it!

Turned a profit actually.

But you'd be forgiven for not seeing that, having your head so far up your arse all the time.

Personally I'd like to see the race in Sydney, incorporating a harbour crossing, maybe even go through the rocks. It'd send local residents groups crazy, but make for great television.

Yobbo I repeat, if the Formula 1 Grand Prix was still in Adelaide, it'd currently be losing $80 mil per year, easily.
