Don't be so selective with your facts Nines.
Australian Football - 20,600 Children + 35,600 Adults = 56,200
League - 23,800 Children + 58,900 Adults = 82,700.

By your own figures that's more than a nice space .

When did touch footy come into things ?
Where's the inclusion of Auskick then ?
Where's the statistics on rec footy ?
Where's the statistics on master's footy ?

Don't be so indulgent with your figures gyfox .

.

All the variants of all codes are built into the numbers. Touch Footy is listed separately in the ERASS statistics because its numbers are so big but it is a non contact variant of League. All variants of Australian Football are included in the Australian Football figures.

I'm not being indulgent with my figures at all, I am just putting the total picture. AFL (sic) is in a nice space in Queensland because it has established itself and is growing. My suggestion is that supporters like yourself enjoy the game, do all you can to improve the standard of the game and to promote it as a great alternative sport. Its worth as a sport does not depend on the numbers. It is a great sport!

I understand what it is like to be a supporter of a so called "minority" sport. I am a Football supporter and in Tasmania there are still people who publicly vilify supporters of the "foreign" codes and call them Un-Australian.

You can use statistics to prove anything. Forfty per cent of people know that.

Then enjoy your football and stop trying to ram its importance down everyone's throat.

I put the figures there for your information so that you would understand the reality wasn't what you were saying.

I didn't realise that I'd said anything . If I had I probably would have enjoyed mentioning all those years that the Lions outdrew the Broncos but that would only be adding to the pissing contest so I refrained .
Undoubtedly there is a certain depth of Australian Football involment in QLD and it is expanding at a healthy rate .You only have to look at the past number of QLD AFL players and the increasing number of AFL draftees to know that Australian Football is healthy in QLD .
.

That was never in doubt as far as I was concerned and I am pleased it is healthy.

Egan . You asked about what was happenning on the international Australian Football scene .There's a couple of PNG players playing in the Goldcoast AFC .There's a few more playing in the QAFL plus some playing in the new Tasmanian Football League .

Gr8 news about the Fed Govt contributing $36 mill for Carrara. Now they can build the latest AFL-type stadium. Will be interesting to see how it compares with recent new stadia. Anyone have a link to the plans/drawings?
