The new Austadiums Mobile site is due to launch in mid-January 2009. It's mainly been designed for use on the Apple iPhone but should also be fine on all mobile devices with internet such as smart phones, PDA's etc. The site is currently under development, and I'm looking for a few people to have a bit of a play with it and provide me with feedback. Designed for a slightly bigger screen than mine, but it works nicely. That's what the zoom function is for.

I wonder if there's a mobile application for the forum?

EDIT: A few more thoughts...

Perhaps a tab to view the stadium photos would be good?

Also, instead of the random selection on the front page, I'd have the most popular (your MCGs and the like).

Finally, on the front page I think it would be better to have "stadium news" above "today's events".

Thanks for the feedback. Yes it's really designed for the likes of the iPhone, Samsung Omnia, Nokia N95 etc. But should work, but as you say may be quite small on, smaller phones - like I tested it on a Sony Ericson K800, and it wasn't too bad.

Great suggestions, will see what I can do about getting a photos tab. I could put the highest rated (by site members) venues on the home page - maybe a mixture of both. The reason I had put the stadium news below the events was to keep the site changing a bit (the events will auto update every day while the news can sometimes go a while without changing), but yeah something to think about.

And as for the forum, I believe there may be something out there to get a mobile version - will have a look!!

Forum now available on the mobile site, although it's read-only. The link is down the bottom of the front page. Just a heads-up, when viewing a topic, it will always default to the first page (ie the oldest posts), click the 'Last' link to go to the latest posts. Enjoy.

Just wondering if you were in a location that could pick up unsecured wireless networks wouldn't you be able to go into the forum if you navigated through the regular website anyway?

I may try it on my phone next time.

You can but it's very difficult to navigate on a phone, even on a device with a large screen like an iPhone. The mobile site is designed for smaller devices - less images and much smaller.

I had a look at the mobile version of the website today on my phone (SE C902) it looked very good. Certainly my phone picked up the site well and was compact enough in design to navigate around well. The forum reader was a touch strange however better then nothing. Good way to waste 5 mins at work checking up on the lastest posts.

From the feedback received, a few changes have been made to the Mobile site. More features to come in the future..
