He is. For me, his call of Susie O'Neill in the 200m butterfly of Atlanta i a stand out.

I presume Ray Warren will call swimming for Ch9. I don't know who else they will have. Seven have had a mortgage on the Olympics for nearly twenty years. Eddie McGuire and Ken Sutcliffe in the host's studio. Maybe Simon O'Donnell and Ken Callendar at the equestrian. Sam Newman at the beach volleyball!! :D

Dennis is indeed the best swimming commentator ever. When we won the 200 metre relay when Thorpe touched the wall, that was my favourite.

But his calls for Susie O'Niell where equally as good.

Oh yeah Britishspud.

We have the Ashes, you can have your medal count. We have the Ashes, the only thing that I feel insecure without.

im sure there is a bronze meddle effort joke in there some where

AndrewM wrote:On the other hand, I guess for the poms it was like the first time - fantastic, can't remember doing anything so good (not anyone under 2o anyway  )and can hardly wait for the next time  :P

well best in 100 years anyway...

If the poms do the sums.....Australia still beat England by one gold medal..and shat on Wales got 3 gold and Scotland got 3 as well ...

I suppose its just like America justifting that it won with 110 medals overall china only got 100.

Spud the poms gave sh*t to O'Grady in the Tour De France

No need to claim moral high ground.

we give aussies sh!t (by which i mean, normally, good natured & houmourous banter) basically out of respect because we know, deep down, that you are better than us..

you lot just make excuses for losing...the kiwis have started doing it too..

it's not very becoming and our unique sporting partnership we share could turn sour if you don't start fronting up and acknowledging that every once in a while that you were beaten by a better side......

I can do that. I'll go one better: I hope England win the next Ashes and Ricky Ponting never opens his mouth ever again. Not even to breathe.

In the end GB was better than Australia. Can't wait for London, only 1400 and something days to go :D . Australia will bounce back hopefully to beat GB.

All this talk in the media about how it was an unsuccessful games for Australia. Its just that our expectations were to beat the 17 god medals that we got in Athens and because we didn't do that its seen as a failure by the media.

Anyway congratulations to China first host nation to come first in the medal tally since the US did it in Atlanta.
