Wrong were in 6th place...damn ruskies and hun

1st China 46 15 22 83
2nd United States 30 35 35 100
3rd Great Britain 18 12 11 41
4th Russian Federation 16 16 21 53
5th Germany 13 8 12 33
6th Australia 11 14 16 41
7th South Korea 10 10 6 26
8th Japan 9 6 9 24
9th Italy 7 7 10 24
10th Netherlands 6 5 4 15

19th New Zealand 3 1 5 9

After all the hype about the GB gold rush.....

You get David Beckham (olympic dud) to take centre stage when the Olympic flag is handed to London at Sunday's closing ceremony in Beijing. but on the up side you have Jimmy Page (legend) for a bit of cred....

You should of had Pete Doherty Kate Moss and Amy Winehouse snort all the lines off the track as a symbol of the stadium moving onwards to the UK

but thats appreciation for you....

its not over yet...the aussies may pull a Bradbury in the equestrian events with the trest of the field doped up...

and the Opals will smash the USA....

suck sh*t to the USA for the 4x100 relays too funny

A couple of unexpected Golds in the pole vault and k1 has lifted us to 13 gold, still two behind Germany in 5th and 5 gold behind GB in 3rd, i wonder if they can hold off Russia.

1. China- 47/17/26- 90
2. USA- 31/36/36- 103
3. GB- 18/13/14- 45
4. Russia- 17/18/23- 58
5. Germany- 15/9/13- 37
6. Australia- 13/14/16- 43
7. Korea- 11/10/8- 29

21. NZ- 3/1/5- 9

The Opals are a shot at gold, don't think they'll get it but at least its a guaranteed silver, while the Kookaburras playoff for Bronze, disappointing they lost to Spain after leading 2-0, they should win Bronze though.
Hopefully 'the crow' is right and we pull off some Bradbury type golds.

Brilliant effort from Hooker last night, stayed up to watch it. Some fantastic clutch vaulting.

Hopefully the Opals get up and we might pick up a Bradbury gold in the Diving. We're ranked 2nd and 6th in the 10m platform going into the final.

If Hackett and Jones had won the golds they were expected to, we'd be doing a lot better!!

+ Sullivan in the 50m and 100m Free,
Schipper in whatever event she came 3rd in,
and the Kookaburras were favourites to win gold...

On the flip side Hooker wasn't expected to win, either were the 4x100 (?) womens medley, and of course the most recent the guy just won the k1-500 gold, i wonder what the expectations were, i keep hearing 17 gold as the aim, that sounds about right, heres hoping for a massive London 2012 medal tally.

Edit: Russia just got a gold medal, they now move into 3rd spot with 18 gold.

Not a bad prediction that one!

Fantastic effort by Matthew Mitcham.

For me, the performance of the Australian team at the Beijing Olympics was like the last blowjob I got from my girlfriend - it was good, not fantastic like you know she can do, and in the end you were sort of happy with the result but deep down you really wanted more :D

On the other hand, I guess for the poms it was like the first time - fantastic, can't remember doing anything so good (not anyone under 2o anyway  )and can hardly wait for the next time  :P
