and what the hell's an 'economics based approach'? surely there's no other way - if a stadium has no prospect of paying it's own way or even providing a contribution to the broader economy then it shouldn't be built. all variations from this proposition are no less an 'economics based approach', they're just taking slightly different tacks. no stadium will be built without serious consideration let alone complete ignorance of the likely economic costs and benefits.
nice quotes though - stories are names and quotes so not bad.
The reality is that the reasons why MES is not being built is based on economic rationale, I am saying there is no economic rationale that suggests that it does not pay for itself.

While WARL are budgeting for crowds of 2000 they are hoping that with a bit of success they hope to gather a Perth Glory type crowd. "We are budgeting 2000, but we would hope to get to a Perth Glory type crowd".
reminds me of the use of expert opinion in those Troy McClure school documentaries

I don't think there is a group of more annoying posters on LU than the Perth crowd.

And that includes Souths fans. Those scum bags deserve everything the Easts fans give 'em. Being a Saints man I have to hate Cronulla, but I get far more please out of watching Parramatta and Souths lose. Hooray for schaudenfraud.
