Israel Folau for $400k p.a. as reported. No centre is worth that much. Will he move to five-eighth or second row?

Bruno Cullen actually said they paid considerably less than the reported figure for him. Happy with the signing of course, just hope he lives up to the hype when he comes to Brisbane. Having Justin Hodges and Israel Folau as a centre combination sounds destructive.

So the reported figure is the correct one and the one the Broncos are talking about is the one they're declaring for salary cap purposes. I get it now.

Maybe I've missed it... but it seems to me there has basically been zero build up to the derby this year. I imagine the whole Bennett story took the focus away, but even on the Saints forums like WORL there's barely a hint of hype or anticipation.

I just hope Dr Saint turns up to play on Saturday and not Mr Dragon.

LU fans think the lack of build up is because the match is being played at Homebush Bay.

That could have something to do with it I suppose, but I don't think it's a complete explanation. I don't know, I can't explain it.

I wonder if Scum fans will break a new fence.

The media have been building up this Mason vs SBW battle for a week. I would put money on this whole game being a massive anti-climax.

For once let's hope it's not. I want to see some big tackles. I hope the fans keep the peace in the grandstands though.

I tipped the Bulldogs. I was impressed with their defence last Sunday. The Roosters are playing well even if things haven't all gone their way. It should be a close encounter. Crowd tip - 22,000

Over in Melbourne the Storm are hosting Brisbane. This is usually one of their best drawing games of the year but they are coming off the back of two losses. Let's see if the faithful remain loyal. I think they will. Crowd tip - 12,000

One thing I notice about the crowd shots at Olympic Park is how much gear they wear. There may not be many Storm fans but they sure spend. I wonder what reception they'll give Folau and the Broncos.

On the field I think Melbourne will smarten up. Bellamy will want to impress his next employers. :P They play well down there and Brisbane don't often return from Melbourne in good spirits.

Canterbury and Melbourne to win tonight, I hope. I need to keep on Cam's heels in the tipping comp. He's getting a bit cocky I'm sure.

Well so much for my predictions. How drilled and disciplined did the Roosters look!

I tipped Canterbury too - what a wanker i was.

The Storm/Broncos was a pretty bloody good game, it takes a bit to get me to stay up to 1:30 to watch a delayed game
