well if your government put it's hand in it's pocket maybe it would have

i keep an eye on the SMH & telegraph online and it appears the world cup is getting about the same coverage up here as it is down there...basically a mention every 3 or 4 aritcles in the normal press...up here it tends to revolve around "what tony smith has been doing"

I saw a great pic with Lockyer wearing that, I hope they're going to sell them.

It's the only way you'll get me to wear Queensland Maroon.

OK here is my tentative plan.

Sun Oct 26: AUS v NZL @ SFS
Mon Oct 27: TGA v IRE @ PAR
Fri Oct 31: SAM v TGA @ CUA
Sat Nov 1: FIJ v FRA @ WIN
Sun Nov 2: AUS v ENG @ MLB
Wed Nov 5: IRE v SAM @ PAR
Sat Nov 8: ENG v NZL @ NCE
Sun Nov 9: Playoff for 9th and 10th @ CUA
Sun Nov 16: Semi Final @ SFS
Sat Nov 22: Final @ Suncorp

If the Brisbane semi final features Australia and I have money, I may add that to the itinerary. So far, I'll have to take 3 November off work definitely. I'll try to fly in and out on the day for the other games.

I'll probably get the Category B seats for all the games though I think I'll treat myself to a ticket in the Gold Hospitality for the Fiji v France game.

http://www.rlwc08.com/corporate_hospita ... kages.aspx

Only 2 interstate trips with the possibility of a third.

Good plan. I'm completely unsure what I'm going to do about the RLWC. I think I'm just going to have to settle into my new job etc and work it out from there.

I think the Telstra Dome game is my priority away trip, with the two SFS games basically certainties.

Paul Barrière passed away this weekend. He was the French RL President from 1947 until 1955 and it was at his instigating that an International Federation was created and a World Cup initiated.

He donated the RLWC trophy. I understand there were moves to name it after him but he refused. I think it would be a fitting honour if they ever did that.

i've started a campaign to get the world cup final man of the match named in paul Barrière honour..

emailed everyone i could at the RLF & RLEF and got a reply off the media officer who said it's been passed on to richard lewis....

so with abit of luck it'll happen and we'll have the paul Barrière medal come the world cup.. :D
