We have five team byes, which are even worse. A cracker game on Saturday though.

Keep telling yourself that champ.

Round 16

SATURDAY, JULY 21, The Parade

Norwood 18.16 (124) defeated South 5.9 (39)
Crowd: 1,507
- Typical Norwood supporters. The Parade has seen the 2 biggest crowds (7,000+), and now the second worst of the season. I guess going directly against a home Cows game and a live ABC telecast didn't help things.

SUNDAY, JULY 22, Woodville Oval

Eagles 17.12 (114) defeated Glenelg 13.15 (93)
Crowd: 2,299

SUNDAY, JULY 22, Unley Oval

Sturt 16.10 (106) defeated North 12.7 (79)
Crowd: 4,269
- Brant Chambers kicked 5, bringing his tally to 74. Chances are he'll go close to bagging 100 against Centrals - under lights, at elizabeth. That'll be a crowd invasion worth watching (assuming they match or beat the 7,300 that saw them square off last time under lights!)

Bye: Port , West , Central

Season crowd average: 3,057 (+4%)

Ladder has Central (13-1), Sturt (10-4), North (8-5-1), Woodville-West Torrens (7-6), Norwood (6-8) in the top 5, with Glenelg and Port Magpies half a game off the pace. West have managed 2 wins this year, when did that happen?

www.sanfl.com.au

New SANFL website, and what a massive improvement it is. The SANFL league and clubs are now the primary focus, with fixtures, ladders, results and club news displayed prominantly. The AFL/AAMI Stadium crap is now buried a few mouse clicks away.

New features include:

SANFL Video Central - highlights of all ABC match of the day telecasts from this season.

Media Central - comprehensive photo galleries, club wallpapers, ringtones, media guide for all radio coverage and C31 and ABC television coverage, even download the television commercials! The Neil Kerley one is a cracker.

Awesome stuff!

I will be there. 6000 people turn up, CDFC home attendances go over 40000 for the year which will be a new record for Elizabeth.

BTW I may be coming into possession of one of Ian Callinan's old Tassie Devils jumpers. Don't know yet, just asked him if he didn't mind parting with one and he said yes.

Pretty stupid of CDFC and the SANFL to allow a clash with a Crows home game... no attendance record broken at Elizabeth this year.

I'm in Adelaide this weekend - got a tip for what should be the best SANFL match to go and see? I figure either Norwood oval or Glenelg?

Norwood's much nicer... and IMO has a better vibe... but I'm red and blue blooded and as biased as they come...

Glenelg is by far the better fixture - 2nd v 5th (norwood game is a dead rubber, for norwood at least). Brant Chambers also a chance of bagging his 100th goal for the season.

Take the bay tram, alight Brighton Road. Stand on Snouts Hill for the best atmosphere (southern/primary school end). The sausages are usually better than the steak sangers.

Go to either the Holdfast or Jetty Hotel after the match.

How to get to the SANFL games for Round 22...

Norwood vs. Central -- 122 - 125 bus via The Parade to stop 7. Bus stops right outside Coopers Stadium.

Eagles vs. South -- 153 or 155 bus to stop 18, a short walk to the Woodville Oval. Look for Oval Avenue for a sure way to the ground although one of the other side streets runs along the western wing of the ground to another gate.

North vs. West -- 224 or 228 bus to stop 13. In the nursing home car park before the car-yard is one of the gates to Prospect Oval.

Glenelg vs. Sturt -- Take the tram to stop 19, the immediate side street will take you straight to the gates.

The game at the Bay is probably your best bet for a good match, but The Parade serves up Coopers.

Glenelg to West Lakes is a much quicker trip by car.

Norwood to West Lakes is usually quicker by bus.
