You can call me a sook over any haka then.

I just don't think it's fair.

Maybe it should be permissable at home tests, but for away fixtures it should not be allowed, unless against another pacific island nation with their own war dance then let them both go at it.

I dont think there is much of a problem with the haka, but I hate NZs aggressive attitude about it, slamming anyone who dares question their right to perform and considering it an attack on their heritage as if no one else had a heritage.

I could just imagine it the other way round, no haka existed but England had some sort of military parade in their pre-match activities with references to heritage.

Keep the haka, lose the attitude

I would probably boycott if they used a Rugby Match as a pro-war rally...the Haka is to defeat evil spirits, not just in reference to war...it actually shows fantastic cross cultural embracement by the Maori and White society, something this country needs to look at trying to embrace.

Keep the Haka, is a very positive impression of what New Zealand society is.

How would a regimented parade/drill be a pro war rally?

curious

Its celebrating conquests over other nations as something that makes their nation so much better then everyone else...

Originally the All Blacks only ever performed the haka whilst on tour - more of a cultural export than anything else.. New Zealand people could always go to their local high school if they wanted to see a bunch of pakehas with high pitched voices trying to imitate Maori aggression..

It's great to see Hawaii also performing a haka...

even if it is post-game for away matches.

Those screaming women are reason #670 that women should be banned from sporting events.

I remember Phil Kearns once suggested a 'war dance' should be performed by the Wallabies before games..

It was a good idea..

It's just a pity that Australia is completely devoid of any real 'culture'..

it'd be just an absolute joke.. a laughing stock...

as oppossed to the haka which is an example of Maori culture that is admired and respected the world over..
