Sounds shocking enough when you consider many fans would've been looking forward to seeing traditional clubs like Torino and Genoa back in the big time. .
"GENOA GENOA VAFFANCULO!"
As my scarf says "Sono bello, sono sano, mia mama mi ha fatto doriano"
Still the Samp-Genoa derby I went to in 1994 would have to rate as probably the best sporting event I have ever experience. A whole stadium (including the grandstands) bouncing up and down, about 5-600 giant flags at both ends, loudhailers, flares, people lobbing crackers at the goalkeeper, supporters crying when a player got taken off on a stretcher. And some of the most magical football you ever could imagine seeing. With Samp winning 3-2 thanks to an incredible goal by Masporo.
I did not sleep that night. As much as the www.ultratito.it
will be revelling, it is them who will be the 2nd biggest losers out of all of this.
In any case, FORZA SAMPDORIA!
