Re: The Rugby Thread
Remember the last Lions tour? The first game was in Brisbane (at the Gabba for some reason...) and most people estimated the crowd was 75-80% Lions supporters. After the PR disaster that was there was a concerted effort to free up more tickets for locals at the other games, but the support was much more balanced that it should have been.
Still, fleecing Poms of their hard-earned is always satisfying...

Re: The Rugby Thread
The Poms will get a nasty surprise when they arrive. 12 years ago, it was approximately $3 to the pound. Now its $1.50.
I say Poms, as the Irish are broke, the Scots are too tight, and the Welsh may find the wooly delights of New Zealand just two more flying hours away too tempting.

Yep...they will be in for a nasty surprise. But all the grounds are sell outs, which is all the ARU are concerned with. The other stuff is more an issue for the Events corporations for each state...

Because Suncorp Stadium wasn't built/upgraded 12 years ago?Boba Fett wrote:Remember the last Lions tour? Their game against the cheaters was pretty lame....the first 50 seconds of the game spoke volumes of where they are at.

Love England losing. Listening to BBC Radio 5 Live before the match, one of the pundits mentioned they had seen a group of yaaaars (my description) wearing "England Grand Slam 2013 Champions" t-shirts.AndrewM wrote:Had a trifecta this weekend - The Force won and both the Tahs and England lost

Kurtley Beale decided to celebrate his first game back from alcohol related suspension... by getting back on the turps.
