I saw the print edition, but generally speaking, only around half the stuff I want to read from them is behind the paywall. A big proportion of the articles that grab me aren't behind the paywall.

I pay for the australian. If fairfax went behind a paywall I probably wouldn't.

CARLTON midfielder Heath Scotland has been charged over involvement in a pub brawl in the New South Wales border town of Mulwala.

Scotland was one of four men charged over the early morning brawl, which took place at the Mulwala Water Ski Club on January 29 and reportedly left a man unconscious.

About 1.40am two groups of men became involved in a brawl at the Melbourne Street club.

Security guards tried to break up the men and called police.

Police will allege that before they arrived, a 31-year-old re-entered the bar and assaulted a 26-year-old man.

The injured man was taken to Wangaratta Hospital and received treatment for minor injuries.

Scotland will face Corowa Local Court on June 20, charged with common assault, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and violent disorder. Three men, aged 25, 26 and 39, have also been charged in relation to the incident.

Ben Cousins has been charged with cannabis possession just three weeks after he was arrested with methylamphetamine at Esperance airport.

The 33-year-old troubled former footballer was pulled over by police in North Beach at 7.30am today and his car was searched.

Police allegedly found a quantity of cannabis and a smoking implement.
