What a game of footy last night. Really was the one that got away for us though - shouldn't have lost that!
So it's Collingwood v Geelong for the big one next. The cats by 35pts is my tip.
For those of you in Melbourne, get down to the AFL Live Site at Federation Square Mon-Fri. www.afl.com.au/finals

Hands down, the best AFL quote this year!

Here's hoping C/wood win for Malthouse. Believe there is to be a tribute to him at the end of the game.

Meatloaf copping it.

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/l ... 1l32p.html

Quote:
At times he seemed to sing in keys previously unknown to mankind, and deep in the fifth set of Bat Out of Hell he sounded not unlike some larger form of sea mammal in considerable pain and/or distress.

Part of the sport in watching the extravaganza became trying to guess which extremely familiar piece of pop history the Loafster was currently strangling. Fortunately the female backing vocalist (read ''lead vocalist'') sang almost exactly like Meat Loaf used to, thus proving invaluable at sketching in the original melody lines.

All in all it was a great deal of money spent on somebody who largely sounded like your elderly uncle singing in the shower. Maybe next time they should just hire the backing singer, at a considerable saving.
