Would've thought Perth increasing in size by 50% in the last 20 years would've had some sort of consequence on WAFL crowds. Nope, 1700 here, 1500 there.

Crowds have doubled in the last decade. Go to WAFL Online to see what the crowds were in 2001...

1500 is not a bad effort considering Peel's history...

Yob if the crowds had not doubled, you wouldn't have got the government investment that Peel got (which it needs to stay competitive) and they would have just sold Claremont Oval off (the entire ground...not just the embankments). East Freo are contemplating moving back to Freo Oval because the fans are staying away from the dilipadated facilities.

Its now $15 for an Adult $12 Concession to get into the WAFL, so clubs are getting a decent wack of revenue from the ticket sales at the gate.

Soaks, come on man...ease up you are on top of the ladder.

Quote:
They bring the total to 10 players who have graduated to league football in 2011 from the 2009/10 colts teams which underlines the youthfulness of our squad.

In 09/10 Peel Thunder made the Colts Grand Final in both years. Hopefully this talent stays with us, big game on Saturday against Sth Freo...

BFD. West Adelaide tops the underage grades every year and hasn't won sh*t since I was 6 months old.

Yep.Going for 9 straight this week.East freo though. They have been our bogey team for years.
Wouldn't be too upset if they beat us.Last time they ended an 8 game ,start of the year winning streak for us we won the flag.It was in 1905 so i don't know how relevent that is but i"ll take it as a good omen.

^ Yeah, I am 50/50 about heading up, depending on how I wake up on Sunday.

Big game at Freo Oval, mainly because I know a heap of Sth Freo fans.

Subi v Peel Thunder - 2092
East Freo v Swans - 1507
Sth Freo v Clar - 1973
Est Perth v Perth - 1729

Showcase Round of the WAFL this week. Est Freo v Sth Freo and West Perth v East Perth should get some big crowds if the weather stays fine. Not sure which foundation day game I'll go to.
