The MacDic defines pop as:

a type of commercial music having great but ephemeral popularity, especially among the young, and often characterised by an insistent rhythmic beat.

What's the best pop songs of all time?

Something like:

Armand van Helden - Hear my name [great vid]
Basement Jaxx - Romeo
Sneaky Sound System - I like it

Hmmm.. as far as a favorite.. I might have to go back to the 80s

Depeche mode - Just can't get enough.

[with credit given to Blondie and a Terry Wogan voiceover for Georgia?]

that I don’t know....

but pop music certainly did a lot of cheesie songs.

Although I tend to disagree with the dictionaries definition

Pop music should of been defined as:-

"Soulless music style by talentless f**kwits for mindless f**kwits promoted by useless f**ckwits on commercial radio aimed at bored f**kwits by Kyle Sandilands...who unsurprisingly is a f**kwit."

I was going to be Cheesie Wilbury, but they dropped me for some hack called Bob Dylan.

Plus, I insisted on spelling 'travelling' with two t's. That wasn't popular.

His curly hair tested well with the female demographic.

Speaking (8 months ago) of Bob Dylan.

I'm addicted to Hurricane at the moment.

There's something immensely satisfying about songs that tell a story.
