Upgraded Forum

Well finally...

The forum has been upgraded to the latest and greatest. Many new features on offer, for users and more so for me!
Also as you can see a bit of a updated design for the header and footer of the site which i'm working on for the entire website.

Feedback welcome...

Looks great!
The quick reply function is really useful too - don't know if you had that before the upgrade though.
Are you changing the colour scheme to match the shades of blue and white, or is there an option to change the forum colour scheme to better suit the rest of the site?

Thanks for the feedback. I'll work on getting the grey/gold colours back in so it matches the rest of the site.

If you get a chance, go to your control panel (top-right of page) and feel free to enter your birthday so it comes up on the site, there's also a box to enter your "home stadium". There are too many new features to mention, but some include adding users and friends and foes, report posts subscribe/bookmark topics/forums, print/email topics. Also with this version we hopefully won't have any more issues with spammers so you'll always be able to update your profile and we can accept new users.

I dunno, it still feels weird.

It is nice to have all the snazzy features like quick reply.

BTW what does the home stadium feature do? Does it appear anywhere for us to look at?

Forum tweak thought:

Is it necessary to go to the "Message has been posted successfully" page when you make a post? I like the fact that on other forums it just goes straight to your posted message (equally could go straight to to the forum index). Seems to me that would save a little bandwidth too.

I've thought the same thing Cheesie. I don't see the point either - I'll see what can be done to remove the additional step everytime..
