I was walking over the Storey Bridge in my lunch hour listening to question time a few weeks back and was somewhat bemused by the opposition's line of questioning.

Why on earth was Malcolm Turnbull questioning K Rudd about a ute? Especially when there were more significant issues at hand (the education revolution debacle, Joel Fitzgibbon, the carbon pollution reduction scheme fiasco, Nicola Rixon's refusal to wear make-up).

I was even more taken aback by K Rudd's stuttering and hesitant initial response. Then later in question time came an emphatic, over-the-top denial.

It would seem the move by K Rudd yesterday to call in the Auditor-General is his way of ensuring he get's at least another month as PM. Julia - no need to come home early.

Rudd and Swan. Surely this is too good to be true. If only it was a green car, we could've gotten Wong too for the trifecta.

...except it ain't gonna happen. Looks like Kevin's in the clear to me. Looks more likely that Turnbull's going to follow Costello out the door.

Labor have backups. Liberals have no talent...

Wouldn't surprise me if the Costello retirement was just to shield him from the aftermath of a failed Turnbull powerplay.

RO has a real nose for politics. I'll pay closer attention to his posts in the future.
