So firstly

Venue and city?

Well I suppose since a Victorian started this site it should be Melbourne.

The Socceroos week also has Wallabies v Italty, Sth Melbourne v Melbourne knights, AFL and VFL football.

The Socceroos night, many of the people would be already booked out.

Friday Night there is an AFL game at the Telstra Dome. Saturday Night it is Rugby at the T Dome.

If we made it a Thursday Night in Melbourne the 18th June, we would be able to accomodate those looking at going to Melbourne for another sporting event.

However we could also do the VFL ground on the Saturday as a way of tapping into the original emphasis of this site, grass roots venues. This site has a strong culture in looking and appreciating all venues. And indeed as Cam said, it started off with these Victorian venues.

Teac Oval is close to town and has a game on, we could move from Teac Oval then to a pub/eatery and then onto the rugby (about 3 hours before the Rugby would start)

Also it would allow people to come and watch football on the Friday night, or watch their team play in Adelaide/Sydney if their team plays in another city on the Sunday/Friday Night.

So to make it easier

Thursday Night the 18th June - A day after the socceroos game

Saturday the 20th June - This one takes us back to the roots of the site and the very beginning.

The final decision will be the emphasis of what particular sport you enjoy to watch and when you will be in Melbourne. Eg if its mostly socceroos supporters there will be an emphasis for the Thursday Night. If its Aussie Rules/Union supporters/Victorians it may be the Saturday.

If anyone else has any ideas for that weekend or mention a better time of year, feel free. We are not going to make it perfect timing for everyone and there is also issues with people who have game commitments on the Saturday arvo in Melbourne.

No comments at all?

We have Cam, HD and me suggesting we should celebrate. Anyone got anything to add?

I am available, I get in Tuesday night.

I am up for it, maybe we can do a lunchtime thing so some who are close to the city in Melbourne can join in.

I say make it something small. How about drinks in the afternoon, somewhere near Federation Square? I just found out I have 42 days of sick leave available, so I think i'm sick that day

p.s. Been a bit quite on the forum lately, and have received a few emails from people regarding site updates etc. But a very busy time of year for me due to the start of the footy season. Will be back to normal soon!!

I'd like to check out the MRS... if anyone's keen on casting their eyes over some of the finer points. And then have a tipple.

How about Egan and Nines in the ring, a no holds barred fight. The winner takes all, and the loser never argues with the other again.

I wouldn't mind coming down for this, still need to wait for my uni exam timetable to know if I am able. Good news is that the Socceroos isn't sold out just yet, I can sit in the nose bleeds (which I suspect might be in another post code) or right down the front where I can see squat  .

A site tour of MRS would be cool, I guess you would need to contact Grocon (the builder). We can at least go and stare at it from the behind the fence though.

edit ^thats a bit rough but

if you all get your green card from Work Cover you would have a better chance..Insurance is such a risk taking newbies about a construction site. ive just looked at mine and its only valid in NSW...sh*t...

I wouldnt mind catching up with a few beers....have to talk to a contact about tickets to the game.

I'm deffo up for something.

I could imagine being required in up to 4 different locations pre-match but if this is a goer I'd make sure I attend this over something else.

That's unless this is combined with the other stuff.
