And the ABC Radio commentary team while we're at it. I was listening to them because somehow I picked up 774 ABC Melbourne on my car radio in Sydney! Terrible call. David Morrow and Quentin Hull normally do a beter job with soccer. Where's Gerard Whateley?

Apparently Ray Hadley's call of the game was so bad it was good. Same can't be said for 7's man. A valiant first time by the fella but he fell into the old trap of just describing what the audience can already see. No real critical assessment of what was happening (and if he'd had that ability it would have been nothing but criticism) or colour and background chatter. He's better suited to the radio maybe.

Saw that too. I concur.
Plus, he soundslike he's been spending far too much time in the States. Seems to be picking up a slight twang. He'll sound like Portia de Rossi soon...

I thought the opening ceremony was tedious sh*t, and I don't mind the opening and closing ceremonies.

I also think it's telling that our women's football team has more attacking nous than our men's team.

Drums were awesome. Everything else was whack. Fell asleep just after Greece walked on...

The Hockeyroos are sexy.

The Olyroos and Graham Arnold need a swift kick up the bum.

Damn straight!!

Kate Hollywood (a few posts above) and Nikki Hudson! Mmmmmmm.

Damn straight again!

Cannot believe how defensive he went against Serbia...that was madness. And then he comes out with a vastly more attacking line up against Argentina. Go figure.

Thankfully the Ivory Coast game should be the last of Arnold in charge.

Can I also say a big f**k you to NBC for demanding that the Swimming finals be held in the morning and an even bigger f**k you to BOCOG and the IOC for agreeing to it.

I haven't seen it yet, but that 4 x 100m Mens Freestyle Relay was a corker today. The Yanks smashed their own world record (which they only set yesterday in the Heats) by a whopping 4 seconds with their final swimmer (Lezak) reeling in the French with an unbelievable last leg of 46.06.

To give you an idea of how fast that is, Eamon Sullivan broke the 100m World Record in the opening leg (only the opening leg can count as a WR) and that was 47.51.

The 100m Freestyle Final is going to be a cracking race if this is any indication!
