I don't know if this will get much of a response but you never know.

Does anyone know how to score cricket using the linear method as opposed to the standard box-type method? I was in a sports shop today and came across a linear scoresheet for the first time.

In the standard method I was taught, which resembles the scorecards you see on TV and each over is recorded in a tiny box. See http://www.nzcricket.co.nz/content/Umpi ... k%2050.pdf

The linear method has loads more room for more cumulative details but I cannot find a ball by ball entry - it must be there but I do not know where to find it. See http://www.nzcricket.co.nz/content/Umpi ... dscape.pdf

[nerd]Does anyone else here enjoy cricket scoring?[/nerd]

Stuff it, alright, I'll own up - I usually spent more time (OK, a lot more)scoring than batting for my clubs. I suppose I'll admit to kinda liking it.

And like Jeffles, I've only used the traditional method.

I've considered going to a grade match and watching a scorer over their shoulder. I don't know how they'll take it.
