I hope they make a big deal of this like they did with the Victory-Sydney thing.
It is ethnic violence not like the soccer/football and 200 got ejected not 3.
I will be pissed if they don't even have it on the news.
Actually, it's pretty much identical to the old NSL Croat/Serb "soccer violence" - no doubt by the same lot of usual suspects. You will be pleased to know its headlined all radio and TV news in Melbourne this afternoon and will no doubt get heaps of press tomorrow. Whats worrying the Oz Open organisers and state gov't is the adverse international publicity this will attract .
Personal request to anyone who goes to the Australian Open - could you please take some photos of the outside courts we do not see as much?... let's get back to the soccer, er, ethnic clashes. It's funny how these tensions remain in Australia despite the homeland region in Europe appearing to be moving on. The Australian Open is usually a showcase of Australian acceptance - the most global of sporting events we regularly host. For years we've seen fans of the Australian, Americans, Swedes, Germans, Japanese, French, Brazilians, Argentines, etc, etc celebrate tennis is a friendly and fun way and now these c***s have spoiled the show. Ban them.
Agree - most of them probably having got a clue what it is they're actually meant to be fighting about - nor care. Meanwhile, to quote the HUN report - "... Serbian and Croatian community groups were quick to condemn the violence, with both sides blaming the other for the clash
Blaiming each other - sure that helps.

One day too late - I walked over the city/MCG flyover yesterday, which gave a good view of the outside courts - but didn't think to take any photos - and they had just started erecting a screen on the flyover to block the view. Damn.
