Having had a look at some of the reviews of the stadiums listed on this website I have noticed some very, very stupid reviews posted that affects the stadiums rating. Is it possible for this to be cleaned up as these reviews are often very unhumourous and juvinile?

Yeah I do a cleanup about once a month where I run a set of queries against the database which removes reviews which include rude or immature words in them and I manually look through some stadiums then delete stupid reviews.

I hope to design a new system very soon where people have to register (have to verify their email address), then it will give me more control over it. Eg: People can only vote for a venue every 3 months or something rather than clicking 'submit' a million times!! It will also allow me to block users. The only problem with this is I think all old reviews will be lost. However I think it's something we have to do for the future success of this feature. It has been very, very popular since it was released.

I've got a zero tolerance policy. While this guy had 17 reviews in total (3 as 'Tobi', the others as different names), I've deleted them all.

Ah.... I love a power trip!! :wink:

Just to show how popular it has been, there have been over 4,300 reviews/votes since going online.

yob-->tobi........tobi-->yob
can't you see the resemblance

good measure cam
it is sometimes irritating to also see reviews hailing everything as full points and the comment as "this is the best ground ever, you should go to it because it is so good, because this stadium is just the best"......unfortunately those are hard ones to police, because one can't really delete reviews that don't have any blatant forms of misuse or abuse such as the one yob showed

With spelling like that I don't think Greg Graham had to convince her that much.

Sorry, don't know what you're talking about!!! :wink: Just done a bit of a clean-up.

Stay tuned for 'Austadiums membership', coming soon. This will allow you to submit reviews, receive newsletter, etc. The main point of it will be to police stadium reviews. You'll need a valid email address. Everyone can only register one account, and all the rest of it. Should be online around late April.

Still haven't decided weather to delete all existing reviews & votes and start from scratch (this is be far the easiest for me), or somehow integrate it into the new system.

i think if possible that you should try and integrate the existing stuff into it....im sure you could ask people to help in going through and identifying the reviews that warrant keeping,,,because there are some very insightful and interesting ones already in there that might be lost

From the suggestor - Please try to integrate it.

Always do reviews within 24 hours of the match...plus theirs some classics on their.

But if its easier mate...do it the easy way :wink:

Just save them onto a cheap free website so people can look at them as archives or something like that.

Will it be based on forum logons? That'd be cool... it'd be an extra hassle coding it though...
